Job Description

Alphident Technologies Inc is seeking a remote GIS Solution Engineer / Developer for a contract engagement focused on building and maintaining enterprise geospatial capabilities for healthcare claims analysis. The role centers on implementing scalable GIS architectures, automating deployments, and crafting data pipelines and dashboards with Esri, AWS, and Databricks. The ideal candidate will work across pre-production and production environments to deliver robust, cloud-enabled geospatial solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy the approved enterprise GIS architecture in OIG pre-production and production environments, tuning ESRI and AWS components for optimal performance.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code scripts using Terraform, Python, and PowerShell to automate deployment and ongoing maintenance of GIS environments.
  • Design and optimize geospatial databases, services, and applications that support healthcare claims analysis.
  • Create automated geocoding workflows for monthly incoming data and billions of warehouse records using AWS Location Service, ESRI tools, or Databricks.
  • Build processes to convert tabular business data into spatial data and load it into the Enterprise Geodatabase.
  • Develop graph data creation pipelines representing entities (patients, providers, hospitals) and their relationships from claims data for link analysis.
  • Embed geocoding and graph conversion steps into ETL pipelines or implement standalone post-ingestion processes.
  • Integrate ESRI GeoAnalytics Engine with Databricks for large-scale spatial processing.
  • Support the development of GIS dashboards and Web-GIS applications with charts, graphs, and maps to visualize claim data.
  • Assist in building a web-based graph data dashboard for link analysis of fraud, abuse, and waste networks.
  • Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri deployments, system architecture, and data integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience with ESRI technology, including map creation, spatial analysis, and configuring web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Eligibility for and ability to maintain a Public Trust background clearance; must qualify for a government-issued ID badge (PIV).
  • Esri technology experience up to 5 years (Required).
