Job Description
At Osmose Utilities Services, the GIS Developer will design, build, and support geospatial applications that underpin utility infrastructure, vegetation management, asset management, and operational planning. This in-office role is based in Atlanta, GA, emphasizing hands-on development and close collaboration with GIS analysts, engineers, and IT partners to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain custom GIS web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Develop interactive mapping solutions using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, Leaflet, or similar frameworks.
- Write automation scripts in Python/ArcPy for geoprocessing, validation, and data transformation.
- Architect and maintain enterprise spatial databases such as PostGIS, SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Integrate GIS platforms with enterprise systems including asset management, ERP, cloud, and CRM platforms.
- Develop and consume REST APIs to enable system integration and workflow automation.
- Apply advanced spatial analysis to support planning and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with GIS analysts, engineers, and IT partners to deliver scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6+ years of professional GIS development experience.
- Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS platforms and/or QGIS.
- Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.
- Experience with REST APIs and modern web technologies.
