Email Developer (Fundraising) (1 year Contract)

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an Email Developer to join the Online Fundraising team on a one-year contract. This remote role focuses on producing multilingual fundraising emails for year-round campaigns, reporting to the Email Manager, Fundraising products, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality donor communications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Email Campaign Specialists to code multilingual emails and craft messages aligned with donors' languages and cultural contexts
• Coordinate with Senior Specialists and cross-functional teams to execute campaign plans, manage timelines, roll out new features, and conduct A/B tests; lead when required
• Develop expertise in Wikimedia email and digital fundraising workflows and apply it to moderate-scope challenges
• Guide Campaigns teams on ESP nuances to ensure optimal email coding
• Provide thorough quality assurance to ensure emails are error-free and functioning properly
• Assist with prioritization of tracking management and development of projects in internal systems
• Support segmentation of audiences for email campaigns
• Coordinate with Associates to clean up code in templates and maintain archives
• As needed, assist Growth & Campaigns teams with web development of banners on Wikipedia
• Prepare documentation and summaries for future reference

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience coding HTML emails
• Solid proficiency with HTML and CSS
• Experience creating dynamic content and personalization for email
• Experience with project coordination and working in a highly collaborative environment
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance day-to-day tasks with longer-term projects
