Data Engineer, Product Analytics
Job Description
Meta is hiring a Data Engineer for Product Analytics to build scalable data artifacts, models, and visualizations that power product analytics across Meta apps. The role collaborates with software engineering, data science, and product management teams to influence growth, strategy, and user experience. This is an onsite position based in Burlingame, California, with a compensation range of USD 114,000 to 173,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute data warehouse plans for a product or a group of products to address well-defined problems.
- Determine data requirements for business challenges and implement the necessary logging to ensure data availability, coordinating with data infrastructure to triage and resolve issues.
- Work with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and present key insights in a clear, meaningful way.
- Develop data expertise and apply data controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operational reliability within assigned areas.
- Design, build, and deploy new data models and visualizations in production using standard development toolkits.
- Independently create and deploy new extract, transform, and load processes in production, mentoring others on writing efficient queries.
- Support ongoing production processes and implement optimized solutions with limited guidance.
- Define and manage Service Level Agreements for data sets within assigned ownership.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a role focused on working with data, such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala, or equivalents).
