Data Engineer – Mid

Castalia Systems is hiring a Mid-Level Data Engineer onsite at Bolling AFB, DC to transform client data into objective, decision-ready insights.

Responsibilities

• Build algorithms and data systems using appropriate tool and framework combinations to convert disparate data points into objective answers
• Apply analytical skills and data science knowledge to support informed client decision-making
• Understand client questions and dig into data-rich environments to surface actionable insights
• Develop a deep understanding of the data, including what it means and how it can be used

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience using statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
• 1+ year of experience with R or Python
• Experience using scientific methods to guide qualitative and quantitative analyses
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph (or willingness to take a polygraph exam)

• Experience with VS Code, GitHub, Jira, or Confluence
• Knowledge of DoD Intelligence processes, activities, standards, and analytic tools
• Experience with data gathering, cleansing, and parsing

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science
