Data Engineer
Job Description
Charles Schwab Technology Services is hiring an onsite Data Engineer in Southlake, TX to build and validate ETL pipelines supporting accurate data migration.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines that enable accurate migration between source and target systems
- Implement SQL- and ETL-based transformations using data engineering fundamentals and strong problem-solving skills
- Validate data accuracy and support data quality assurance through repeatable checks
- Collaborate with technical leads and peers to review mapping specifications and refine solutions
- Deliver high-quality data outcomes that support scalable, secure, and trusted technology solutions
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development
- Experience building mappings, tasks, and task flows using ETL tools
- Strong SQL experience, including writing queries, creating and altering tables, joints, aggregations, and data validation scripts
- Experience working with staging tables, lookup tables, reference tables, and mapping configurations
- Ability to read technical mapping specifications and implement source-to-target transformation logic
- Experience performing unit testing to validate data accuracy and transformation logic
- Open-source scripting using Python for data processing

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server) and database objects used in data migration or data integration
- Ability to apply data engineering fundamentals to build reliable, compliant, and scalable data pipelines
- Strong attention to detail for validating data, reviewing specifications, and preparing work for quality assurance
- Capability to troubleshoot moderately complex data issues by analyzing patterns, identifying root causes, and recommending practical solutions
- Experience participating in peer reviews and using feedback to improve delivery quality
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical teams, including adjusting to changing priorities
