AWS Data Engineer – DynamoDB

Alchemy is hiring an experienced AWS Data Engineer to support production data engineering work centered on DynamoDB. Based in Juno Beach, FL with an onsite schedule, this role focuses on building and optimizing end-to-end pipelines across AWS services, with hands-on development in Python and PySpark.

You will contribute to ETL development and data platform reliability by designing DynamoDB models and performance characteristics, creating AWS Glue workflows, and supporting analytics through SQL and data warehousing practices. Collaboration and delivery practices such as Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code are part of the daily workflow, and AI tools are used to help improve development and automation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable production data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
• Develop ETL jobs, crawlers, triggers, and workflows using AWS Glue.
• Design and optimize DynamoDB data models, including capacity, streams, and performance.
• Work with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, and Kinesis.
• Use Postman for API testing and collaboration.
• Write complex SQL queries and apply data warehousing principles.
• Apply Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Leverage AI tools to improve development, automation, and productivity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant IT/data engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python/PySpark, AWS Glue, and DynamoDB.
• Proven experience building production data pipelines.
• Experience levels: IT/Data Engineering (10 years) required; DynamoDB (4 years) required; Python and PySpark (4 years) preferred.

Compensation and Location

$60.00–$65.00 per hour (USD). In-person role based in Juno Beach, FL.
