Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer 3

Akina, Inc. is hiring an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer 3 to support the VISTA project (MT&E Team) and related AI/ML efforts. This onsite role focuses on designing, building, testing, and productizing AI/ML algorithms and models, including deployment and evaluation aligned to customer requirements.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, create, test, and productize AI/ML algorithms to address business challenges.
• Develop AI/ML models that learn and generate predictions based on business logic defined to meet customer requirements.
• Apply expertise across model architecture, data pipeline interaction, and metrics, including interpretation and presentation.
• Use familiarity with foundational application development concepts, infrastructure management, data engineering, and data governance.
• Design scalable solutions and optimize performance through training, retraining, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, and iterative improvement based on user and system feedback.
• May provide leadership to geographically diverse teams.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for AI-related matters.
• Demonstrate software engineering capability along with AI/ML model test and evaluation skills.
• Select appropriate data sets and perform statistical analysis.
• Run machine learning algorithms, use results to improve models, and train or retrain systems when needed.
• Apply standard test and evaluation protocols and support system integration oversight.
• Oversee test and evaluation of AI/ML algorithms using an iterative design approach to satisfy verification and validation requirements.
• Research and implement a broad range of AI/ML algorithms and tools.
• Design or select appropriate data and knowledge representation methods, and recognize software architecture, data modeling, and data structures.
• Transform and convert AI prototype work into scalable solutions.
• Verify data and model output quality and identify data distribution differences that affect model performance.
• Develop test and evaluation criteria including explainability and resiliency.
• Maintain deep understanding of AI logic, semantics, ontologies, and knowledge representation.
• Design, evaluate, and productize AI/ML models across a range of commercial cloud-based architectures.
• Broaden current AIML frameworks and machine learning libraries; research, experiment with, and implement suitable ML algorithms and tools.

Required Qualifications

• Standard AIML3 labor category requirements.
• 10 years of experience deploying machine learning algorithms is required.
• A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in advanced math, artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, or deep learning from an accredited college or university is required.
• 7 additional years of machine learning experience with a relevant Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for a Master’s degree.

• Salary range: USD 241,000 - 295,000 per yearly
