The Finance Software Engineer will design, develop, test, deploy, and support full-stack web applications and automation solutions used by Apple’s global Finance organization. The role includes partnering with business teams to translate requirements into secure, compliant software that aligns with SDLC, SOX, InfoSec, and privacy expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business partners, analysts, and engineers to conceptualize, create, develop, document, test, and upgrade web applications and their components
- Write efficient code and build full-stack applications based on business requirements
- Test and deploy programs and applications in accordance with Apple’s SDLC
- Triage, debug, maintain, and improve existing applications
- Create technical documentation to support ongoing operations and future development
- Enhance existing applications based on evolving business requirements
- Implement and maintain application compliance with InfoSec, Privacy, and SOX guidelines
- Work with other engineers to define and adopt best practices in application and software development
- Partner with DevOps to assess emerging technologies and support their adoption through related techniques
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Strong background in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting applications and automation solutions, preferably in a highly agile environment
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Software Quality Control within an Agile setting
- Demonstrated proficiency with:
- Web development with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and alternatives)
- JavaScript libraries such as React and VueJS
- Object-oriented programming languages such as Python
- SQL and the ability to analyze and operate on very large data sets
- APIs and microservices including GraphQL and REST
- Relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres
- Unix shell scripting
- Code management with Git
