Overview

Join a mission critical team as a Red Hat OpenShift Developer supporting government activities at Chantilly, Virginia. What You’ll Do

Work on OpenShift based solutions to support government initiatives at the Chantilly site, focusing on secure and resilient deployments that meet mission requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Experience: 7+ years related experience.

Technical Skills

  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • Kubernetes Essentials: Pods, Deployments, Services, ReplicaSets, ConfigMaps/Secrets, Namespaces, Ingress
  • YAML manifest authoring and kubectl commands
  • Storage and Networking: Persistent Volumes (PV/PVC, CSI Drivers), service discovery, OVN-Kubernetes for pod communication
  • OpenShift Command Line Interface: login, oc new-project, oc new-app, oc expose, oc rsh/logs, oc adm policy for RBAC
  • Application Development: Microservices in Java, Node.js, Python, or Go; REST APIs; YAML for Kubernetes resources
  • Programming web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Spring Boot
  • Frontend frameworks: Vue, React, or Angular
  • FS Maximo
  • Security clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Maximo Application Suite (MAS) skills including cluster administration, installing, configuring and maintaining OpenShift 4.16+ clusters
  • Container and Pod management: deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications
  • MAS Operator Lifecycle: understanding operators to manage MAS components
  • Scripting and automation: Bash or Ansible for Day 2 operations
  • Security: managing roles (RBAC), secrets, and security context constraints (SCCs)
  • Demonstrated hands on experience upgrading Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA, including older to newer versions
  • Experience with Linux based or Windows based systems and shell scripting
  • Build automation: Gradle, Maven, Jenkins
  • WebSphere or Tomcat
  • Container security tools like Podman for rootless containers
  • Agile development environment
  • Jira, Confluence, Git (GitHub/GitLab) for version control and collaboration
  • Familiarity with customer security requirements, and compliance tools and processes

Certifications

  • RedHat Certified Cloud-native Java Developer (EX378) or earlier EX283
  • RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280)
  • RedHat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) for Linux
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CAK) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) for Kubernetes

Salary and Benefits

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 to $218,500. This range is not a guaranteed compensation figure; actual salary will be based on experience, location and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range. View information about benefits and our total rewards program.
