Lead Embedded Software Engineer (Board Bring Up)
Job Description
Lead iRDK bring-up and platform enablement on MediaTek C-X1 SoC platforms, owning end-to-end technical execution from EVK validation through custom iRDK hardware integration.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution of iRDK bring-up activities on MediaTek C-X1 platforms
- Own the platform development lifecycle from EVK validation through custom board integration and production readiness
- Act as the primary technical point of contact with MediaTek for SoC enablement, escalations, and issue resolution
- Drive BSP development, board bring-up, kernel integration, and system-level debugging
- Collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and product teams to support seamless platform integration
- Debug and resolve complex issues across boot, driver, kernel, and hardware/software interactions
- Enable and optimize Linux-based embedded platforms, including bootloader and kernel customization
- Define bring-up plans, track technical milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders
- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership on embedded software best practices
- Support productization efforts focused on scalability, performance, stability, and maintainability
- Work closely with SoC vendors and external partners to accelerate issue resolution and technology adoption
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
- 10+ years embedded software experience; 5+ years in a staff or lead role
- Direct hands-on experience with MediaTek SoC platforms (C-X1, MT8xxx series, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated track record leading ECU/SoC bringup programs end-to-end
- Strong BSP and kernel bring-up expertise (Linux, U-Boot or equivalent bootloader)
- Experience with C/C++ and Python/Rust
- Familiarity with hardware debug tools: Lauterbach, JTAG, oscilloscope
- Excellent cross-team communication, including experience working directly with SoC vendors

Location: Santa Clara, CA (onsite). Salary: USD 73,150 - 174,000 per year.
