Data Engineer, Product Analytics
Job Description
Meta is seeking a Data Engineer, Product Analytics in San Francisco, CA (onsite) with a compensation range of USD 147,000 to 208,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Own the data architecture across multiple large scale projects, evaluating design choices and cost-benefit tradeoffs for operation and scalability.
- Develop and contribute to data logging frameworks to improve observability, collaborating with data infrastructure teams to triage and resolve issues.
- Partner with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and translate insights into meaningful representations.
- Establish and maintain service level agreements for data sets under your ownership.
- Design and enforce privacy-based security models, verify safeguards are followed, address data quality concerns, and evolve governance within your domain.
- Design, implement, and deploy advanced data models and visualizations to support multiple use cases across products and domains.
- Tackle complex data integration challenges using efficient ETL patterns, frameworks, and queries across structured and unstructured sources.
- Participate in owning production processes and optimize intricate code using advanced algorithmic concepts.
- Improve pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to streamline the development of data artifacts.
- Guide cross-functional teams and product stakeholders to identify data opportunities that drive impact.
- Coach teammates by providing and soliciting actionable feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience working with data in roles such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or related.
- At least 4 years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala).
