Data Engineer

DCI Solutions is hiring a Data Engineer in Washington, D.C. (onsite) to join a cross-functional team working on data integration, transformation, and application development that supports operational decisions. You’ll collaborate with product teams, help solve pressing problems, and deliver reliable data pipelines that keep the platform’s data footprint actionable. This role requires an Active Secret security clearance.

What you’ll do

• Serve as a Data Engineer on a cross-functional team to help address pressing operational problems
• Integrate data, transform insights, and build applications used for operational decision-making
• Set up transfers of data feeds from source systems into the target location
• Write transformations and derive new datasets using Spark for distributed computation
• Monitor build progress and debug build issues as pipelines and datasets evolve
• Design application components that answer operational questions
• Support RFI requests related to the platform’s data footprint
• Work with product teams to debug and understand the code behind the platform

What you bring

• BS in Computer Science / Engineering (or related career field) preferred
• Strong data engineering background
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, and/or Pandas
• Extensive coding/programming experience in Python
• Extensive coding/programming experience in SQL, R, or similar
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures as they apply to software development
• Foundry experience preferred
• Active Secret security clearance (required)
• In-person work location in Washington, D.C.

Salary: USD 175,000 - 260,000 per year.
